Curriculum Vitae

Maria Zisimou studied for her diploma in Classical Guitar Performance at the Athens National Conservatory having Manolis Vrontinos as her teacher, followed by her postgraduate diploma at the Cyprus Conservatory studying with Demetris Regginos. She took part in seminars by Evaggelos Asimakopoulos, Lisa Zoe, Fabio Zanon, Panayiotis Adam, Robert Aussel, Costas Varotsis, Tom Hodgam, Franscisco Navarro and others, in Cyprus, Greece and Spain. She was the winner of the 3rd prize at the 11th Greek Guitar Contest that took place in Patra in 2002.

She is currently giving recitals as a member of the “OKTO” guitarists’ band, as well as a member of other bands. She is a member of the European Guitar Teachers Association in Cyprus.

Maria is also a graduate of Greek Literature of the Philosophic Department at the University of Athens.
